Melissa~~

Spaceman-Spiff October 24th, 2003

I’ve been listening to Melissa , a song by Porno Graffitti, many many times since 2 days ago. The song is also used in Full Metal Alchemist as the opening song. It’s a really good song. Msg me on IRC if you want to listen to it.

After reading a Quentin Tarantino interview on Kill Bill (contains spoilers), I decided to make a Counter-Strike spray, ended up making 2 versions. I love the crazy 88 Tongue. I also made a One Piece one few weeks ago, it’s plain and simple with no texts.

Just read this comic strip today, I found it hillarious.

Good Sunday

Spaceman-Spiff October 20th, 2003

Yesterday (Sunday) was a pretty good day. I, Herbert, and Dego went to see Kill Bill. The movie was good, really good. The katanas in the movie are awesome, made me want to have one…

Before the movie, I thought Uma Thurman was kinda too old for action movies, but she turns out not too bad. She put a good effort in learning and saying her Japanese dialogs, although Lucy Liu still pronounce them better than her Wink. Maybe Lucy's Asian background helps with her pronounciation. Not really sure on that…

The amount of blood splurts in the movie is really extraordinary, it's not realistic at all. I was told afterwards that it was intentional, in order to add some comical sense to the movie. I guess the movie kinda need that, since it's quite violent Tongue. I look forward seeing the 2nd part on February.

That night, we had some Ramen at this place close to Robson Street and Stanley Park (I don't remember the name). Herbert's Japanese host dad said that it's the best ramen place in Vancouver. It's a small eatery, there's only a small bar and like 4-5 tables there, but the ramen was really good. That was really the best ramen I've ever had (not that I had plenty before Tongue). Kuraizie knows and likes the place too, but she also doesn't remember the name Sweatdrop. I'll have to ask around and then memorize the place name….  Anyone knows?

Gunslinger Girls

Spaceman-Spiff October 12th, 2003

I saw the first episode of Gunslinger Girls last night. My review of it: the story is sad and cruel and violent, even worse than Noir. It's not as depressing as Grave of the Fireflies, of course, but still a pretty sad story. Some parts of it is cool though, like when the little girl takes a gun apart, pieces by pieces.

At the end of the Triad's fansubbed movie, there's a few frames of a credit screen:

which looks surprisingly similiar with the image in Ushi website, except that the one in the anime is greyscaled.
