Some Anime/Manga News

Spaceman-Spiff January 26th, 2005

Beck manga is licensed by Tokyopop. Hope they won’t screw this up…

Best selling manga and anime series of fourth quarter 2004. I don’t buy any in those lists. More people need to read Vagabond!

Maaya Sakamoto is coming to the 2005 AnimeFest in Dallas, TX on September. Too bad, it’s too far away :(.

Reservoir Dogs & Oscar Nominees

Spaceman-Spiff January 26th, 2005

I finally watched Reservoir Dogs today. It’s pretty violent, but the dialogs and characters are very interesting. I’m curious to see City on Fire now, a 1987 Hongkong movie starring Chow Yun Fat, which is the inspiration of Reservoir Dogs.

In another topic, the 77th Annual Oscar Nominees list has been released. The only movie I’ve seen in the Best Picture category is Finding Neverland. I liked the movie, but didn’t think that it’s really that great. My fav movie of 2004 is Collateral. Too bad it didn’t make it to the list, though it’s nominated in the Film Editing category and Supporting Role Character category (Jamie Foxx).

For some reason I’m not that interested to see the other movies in the Best Picture category.

Mai Hime 15

Spaceman-Spiff January 26th, 2005

Sleepycat is right, Mai Hime ep 15 is really good.

I was put off by Mai Hime after a series of bad episodes, especially the filler episode 10. I was skeptical that the series can be good and I had been thinking not to download it anymore. But, after watching episode 12-15 tonight, the story gets a lot better. Episode 15 is the end of the current arc (I’m guessing), and a new story will start in the next episode. Can’t wait to see the next one.

I heard the manga isn’t great though. Wonder why…

Blog Resurrected

After being “dead” for 10 months, finally this blog is back.

Spent most of today setting up this new blog (using WordPress), importing older entries, and playing Magic the Gathering.
Now I need some sleep…
