Hey there! Probably some of you may know my user name from Maayas.net - I happen to lurk here as I know people lurk over there  Cheesy I *finally* signed up on YKDB after...well, a long period of lurking. Years, perhaps? Nice to meet you all properly anyway!!

I got directed over here by eiki on the livejournal Maaya Sakamoto community because she thought you guys might be interested in the Maaya Sakamoto cover album that Jerome and I from Maayas.net recorded last week.

Maaya Sakamoto Cover Album "The Other Side of Lucy - First Live@Purple Pro Audio"

So me and Jerome met up in England (a hefty feat from he who lives in South France) and spent 10 hours in a studio on Friday 13th 2008 recording this album. It's basically an acoustic guitar live ^_^ considering we rehearsed only six hours pre-recording and I have never sung that much in my life...well, I enjoyed the process and I think it turned out well.

The band is called The Other Side of Lucy! Anyway, have a listen if you want and feel free to spread about - although I've spread it everywhere I can think of!! It was a fun project, if only for being in a studio singing Maaya songs!!!

I have a new found respect for singers though it's amazing how they can sound great through a concert! I think I want to get proper training now...oh yeah! If you can spot the two words that I made mistakes on in two tracks then you get an internet cookie. They make grammatical sense (yay for being a japanese major) but I was too embarrased to tell the others because I didn't wanna cause trouble...and it made grammatical sense sorry Maaya!!!! eiki got a cookie for one of them  Wink

Anyhoo! Enjoy!

Where did you guys take the music sheets from??

Your voice is really beautiful and you did a great job! Take singing classes from tomorrow, I order it! Grin You could be a really great singer with little technic!

Woaaah comments  Kiss thanks for the welcome. It seems like a nice community here! Thank you for the positive feedback - it's really encouraging. As for answers to questionsand such, let's see:

Music scores: Well, I know there are guitar chords for some (mainly anime) Maaya tracks out there on the net. But as far as I know Jerome does all the arrangements himself on his guitar by listening and playing along. That's why some of the songs were a bit different because he was arranging it a bit differently  Smiley

I can't play an instrument either (wish I did) but I would have loved to add piano or percussion to the covers...maybe next time anyone is floating around England...?   Grin or...you know, I could learn ^^;;; must. learn. instrument.

Singing lessons...I really want them  Kiss as for Platina - that would probably be ok but Hemisphere would make Jerome's fingers bleed, haha. But it's always worth a try!!  Cool

Woo! Thanks for the comments!! I feel at home already!

Alright, bloody fingers it is   Wink

Just some stats, but the files over at Maaya's individually have had 106 total downloads (Chibikko Folk getting 48!!!! I knew that take was a good one). The album link at zshare has had 130 downloads, total.

So thank you everyone for listening and posting feedback >_<VV

Add those to the plays from the Gabby blog Chibikko Folk currently at 70+, but of course it's not an anime song and that perhaps makes it less known.

I know Maaya Sakamoto sings the lyrical version to the song Toko made for Arjuna, named Early Bird. What is that version of the song? (The same way Aoi Hitomi by Sakamoto = Memory of Fanelia by Kanno)HuhHuhHuhHuh

The song is called Kuuki to Hoshi^^ And you could compare it with Aoi Hitomi/Memory of Fanelia Wink
